In 1995 he joined a Team of techno enthusiasts called “Headquarters“ which was an institution for newcomer DJ’s of Berlin’s Tresor Club. In 1996 he overtook the team’s leading role and this made him an important mentor for the following “Headquarters” generations. Eventually Dash became one of the most respected resident DJ’s of Tresor and is nowadays touring througout Europe and the world. His uncompromising and unique sets can be considered as true techno, and which never deny their Detroit-related roots. Since 1997 Dash has also begun to concentrate on his first self-productions. Although his technical resources were already quite considerable at that time – he used an Atari and diverse drummachines - they were still too limited to result in professional tracks, so the next logical step was to lump together with his long-time friend and DJ partner DJ Dry. Consequently they founded the “Rampe D” studio in 1999 and soon afterwards their established their own label of the same name. Rampe D evolved into a widely known and well-valued techno imprint. Dash is currently working on the first “3ST vs. Dash” album – a project he does together with DJ Dry. Furthermore he composes soundtracks for short movies of an acquainted filmmaker, who will soon release a full-length motion picture featuring music composed by Dash. |
